Women Ride Too

Women Ride Too

I stopped into a motorcycle gear store looking for gloves, and it left me thinking about how women riders are still represented in motorcycle retail.
As I walked around the store, I noticed there was nothing that really said, "Women ride too." The displays, the inventory, the marketing—everything seemed geared toward men. I couldn't even find the women's gloves section at first.
Interestingly, another woman in the store was also looking for gloves, and we ended up helping each other more than the sales staff did. We talked about fit, sizing, and what actually works for women riders. When a sales associate finally came over to help, he had her trying on men's gloves. She explained that the men's small didn't fit and that she would need an extra small, but they didn't have one in stock.
That experience made me realize it's not just about carrying women's gear. It's about visibility, inventory, and understanding that women are a growing part of the riding community. If women's gear is hard to find, sizes aren't stocked, and the default solution is to put women into men's products, then something is being missed.
Women riders aren't asking for special treatment. We simply want to be recognized as riders. We want gear that fits, sections that are easy to find, and stores that reflect the reality that women ride motorcycles too.
Have any of you had similar experiences while shopping for riding gear? I'd love to hear your thoughts
